TriColumbia is proud to present the Rocky Gap Triathlon, continuing its rich 25-year race history. Offering both an International Distance and a Sprint Distance race experience, The Rocky Gap Triathlon takes place in beautiful Rocky Gap State Park in Western Maryland, located at the eastern base of the Evitts Mountain where Evitts Creek feeds Rocky Gap Run and empties into 243-acre, serene Lake Habeeb. Previously produced by the Cumberland YMCA, TriColumbia will enhance the event in this, its 26th year, ensuring athletes are offered the same stellar race experience and amenities for which TriColumbia is known.
The Rocky Gap Triathlon will continue to benefit the Cumberland YMCA to serve human needs in Allegany County and the Tri-State region through programs and services that promote lifelong personal growth and the balanced development of spirit, mind and body.

Need Training Help?
If you're new to multipart or just looking to improve your skills, be sure to check out the TriColumbia endorsed training programs offered by Spin 90 and TriFitness Training. Programs are designed to insure athletes participating in endurance events have a positive experience during the preparation stage as well as on race day.
Spin 90 offers a variety of cycling classes, both indoor and outdoor that provide valuable training to all ability levels.
TriFitness Training offers a Basic Triathlon Camp in the Spring designed to help athletes understand and properly prepare for a triathlon, as well as Open Water Swim Clinics at Gunpowder State Park throughout the summer to help you learn the swim techniques that will enable you to be comfortable and relaxed when you come out of the water on race day.
The Cumberland YMCA is offering practice swims at Lake Habeeb on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm from May 14 - June 6, 2013.

I have participated in multiple distance triathlons all over the country for many years, and I can say without any hesitation, that TriColumbia events set the “gold standard.” Every detail including pre-race communication, packet pick-up, event primes and race day logistics is handled expertly. The staff and volunteers are the best, taking great care of athletes from start to finish!

I love participating in TriColumbia events. The races are executed perfectly, the courses are some of the most beautiful and challenging I have seen, and best of all, I love the fact that they are a non-profit, working to make our community better for people in need. TriColumbia really makes a difference. When setting up my race calendar, I always choose TriColumbia first!
