AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MD STATE HIGHWAY ADMINSTRATION
As you train on local roads, please be aware that State Highway crews are continuing to work on local roads including MD Rt. 99 and MD Rt. 108, as well as MD 103 at Ilchester Road (on April 22, 2013). All vehicles, including cyclists, need to obey any direction given by the flaggers. Construction areas can be dangerous and our staff goes through much training on work zone safety. The flaggers are there to ensure the public’s safety in these areas and it’s important to follow their instruction. We understand it’s an inconvenience to have to stop during a ride, however, we want to ensure everyone gets home safely.
Welcome to the 2013 Celebrating Heroes Triathlon, an inspirational sprint triathlon taking place amid the rolling countryside in Howard County, MD. Join us in celebrating the birth of our nation's independence, and applauding the spirit of the American Hero. TriColumbia salutes the many heroes that make our nation great; from wounded warriors, rescue workers and first responders to everyday unsung heroes who go out of their way to selflessly lend a hand to provide hope and help to those in need.

"The Columbia Celebration Triathlon was my first triathlon and I'll always have a fondness for the experience. The organizers, support staff and sponsors were all incredible! As intimidating as it was to do a triathlon for the first time, everyone involved made it memorable and fun. I can't say enough about the experience. A true celebration!"

"My daughter did her first triathalon, the Celebration, in Columbia. I was there the whole time, and would like to compliment your organization on an extremely well run event. I've volunteered on many bike rides, bike races, and the Baltimore Marathon, and I was amazed at how thorough your event planning and performance was. Great job!"
