to the Mid-Atlantic’s premier endurance event production company

Columbia, Md. – TriColumbia, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier endurance event production company, today announced the appointment of LJ White to Executive Director. LJ brings 18 years of management, event production and nonprofit experience to the TriColumbia team.

As Executive Director and USA Triathlon Certified Race Director, LJ will articulate vision, overall direction and strategy of TriColumbia, provide leadership in event development, organizational and financial plans, and cultivate strong community and sponsorship relationships while communicating the goals and directives of TriColumbia.

“We are excited to welcome LJ to the TriColumbia team,” said Todd Jennings, Chairman of TriColumbia’s Board of Directors. “LJ’s background and expertise, in addition to her passion and entrepreneurial spirit, will help us further our mission of providing premier endurance events while strengthening individuals and our community. With LJ’s help, we look forward to continuing the growth of TriColumbia.”

Co-founded by LJ in 2003, Fins, Wheels, Feet Racing produced Virginia-area triathlons to raise awareness and funds for the Virginia Special Olympics, and was the first triathlon company in the United States to inclusively recruit Special Olympic athletes to participate alongside age group participants. Prior to Fins, Wheels, Feet Racing, LJ founded LJ White Health & Wellness in 1995, where she promoted healthy, active lifestyles through trainings and workshops.

"I am thrilled and excited to be joining the staff at TriColumbia,” said LJ.  “It is a dream opportunity for me to work with such a wonderful, well-established non-profit organization.  This position combines my passions for the sport of triathlon, health and wellness, and working with charities. I look forward to see where we can evolve into our future!"

Outside of her professional work, LJ is an accomplished endurance athlete and avid philanthropist. In 2012, she completed The Run Across America, raising more than $80,000 for the Ulman Cancer Fund. She is also an Ironman (Panama, 2006) and Boston Marathon (2009) finisher. Volunteer projects LJ is involved in include the Chantilly High School FIRST Robotics Team, USA Science & Engineering Festival and Bite Me Cancer Foundation.

LJ currently resides in Centreville, Va. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business from Colorado College, and a Masters degree in Advertising from Northwestern University.
